Largo Cemetery, located in the northern part of the city on Jasper Street, is one of the oldest in the county and is considered a heritage landmark and pioneer cemetery to area residents, with burials dating back to the 1800s. The cemetery contains the remains of many Pinellas County pioneer families and offers a dignified, poignant and historic reminder of the dedication, commitment and loyalty of generations who settled and populated Largo and surrounding areas in the past.

The cemetery grounds contain a rich history of the area that may be noted on headstones aged with time and standing in silent memory of the tenacity and strength of Largo inhabitants, founders, politicians and families. The grounds of Largo Cemetery are well cared for and contain one section reserved for Disabled American Veterans Chapter 143, and also serves as a final resting place of many area veterans from all service branches who have fought in wars and conflicts through generations.

Largo Cemetery was founded in 1887. Historic data and facts regarding the cemetery and its inhabitants are recorded by the Pinellas Genealogy Society. Hundreds of Pinellas and Largo area residents are buried in Largo Cemetery, providing visitors and loved ones access to lovely and well manicured grounds, old and new burial sites, memorials and burial plots. Largo Cemetery staff have and continue to meet the needs of Pinellas County residents in a variety of religious denomination, cultural and traditional needs.

Largo Cemetery, though relatively small by today's standards, offers visitors a pleasant, nostalgic, and peaceful visit to memorialize and honor loved ones in simply designed cemetery grounds partitioned into sections and squares with well kept and maintained pathways. As one of the oldest cemeteries in Largo and the county, the grounds personify the spirit and dedication of a community that moves forward in the 21st century while honoring the decades of memories, service and sacrifices of its residents.

Largo Cemetery may be accessed from North Missouri Avenue with a turnoff on Jasper Street. The cemetery is located between 1222 and 1298 Jasper Street and Betty Lane in downtown Largo, Florida. Located west of Tampa and north of St. Petersburg, Largo may be accessed off of Interstate 275 with a short drive over the bay, which offers accommodations, dining and entertainment along miles of Florida beaches along the western coastline of Florida.
