Back in the early 1960s, Los Osos Valley Memorial Park, located in San Luis Obispo County, was created to meet the multicultural needs of San Luis Obispo community residents. As a nonsectarian and nondenominational endowment care park, staff of the facility have and continue to take pride in their ability to meet a variety of burial needs for grieving family members and loved ones. In addition to the memorial park, an onsite crematory was finished in the early 1970s and a full- service funeral home opened its doors in the mid-1980s, thereby providing one of the first full service facilities along California's central coast. Staff offer compassionate and caring service to family members and friends, and take pride in their ability to empathize with all family members. Los Osos Valley Memorial Park offers a variety of funeral options as well as cremations to meet the needs and desires of family members. Personalized services and cemetery memorialization services are also available at the well-kept and groomed park, encompassing acres of green lawns, stone-surrounded annual and deciduous trees and colorful flower beds and shrub arrangements throughout the property. Acres of relatively flat property dotted with shade-offering trees offer easy access for visitors. The cemetery property, located north of Los Angeles and south of San Francisco is designed with exquisite California style architecture blending a rich history of Spanish and Mexican occupation that mimics many of the designs of missions found along the California coastline. The cemetery property serves as a final resting place of many central California residents and pioneers as well as actress Jean Laverty. Located on the shores of Morro Bay just north of the Montana De Oro State Park and due east of downtown San Luis Obispo, the property catches gentle breezes coming in from the Pacific Ocean to the west and the Los Padres National Forest to the east. Visitors may access the property by taking County Route 101, or State Route 1, also known as the Pacific Coast Highway north or south of Los Angeles and San Francisco respectively with turnoffs on Los Osos Valley road just south of the PCH. |
