For over four decades, staff at St. Bernard Memorial Gardens have met the needs of Louisiana's St. Bernard parish. A granite memorial on the property honors the sacrifices and service of the military with their St. Bernard Memorial Gardens Veterans Memorial. The Garden of the Resurrection Mausoleum offers a variety a beautiful resting place for those who choose cremation, while other mausoleums throughout the property, graced with names such as Garden of the Resurrection, Garden of Serenity and Garden of Peace also offer a variety of beautiful locations. St. Bernard Memorial Gardens is located just east of downtown New Orleans in Chalmette, nestled between Lake Borgne and Lake Pontchartrain. Visitors can reach the property by taking Interstate 10 east or west with a turnoff south on Interstate 510, (also known as Paris road or State Route 47), as well as taking Route 39 from New Orleans toward Chalmette, with a turnoff onto West Virtue Street. |
