Toledo Memorial Park was established in the early 1920s, and at the time consisted of 21 separate sections, all combined with the design for harmony into one of the most beautiful natural parks in the area. One of the most unique things about Toledo Memorial Park is that every section was individually designed with the intention of honoring the traditions and cultures of this diverse community. Staff at Toledo Memorial Park takes pride in their ability to offer nonsectarian and nondenominational sections and services, although many sections for specific religions as well as fraternal organizations are available. Encompassing dozens of acres, the cemetery is one of the most beautiful and well-groomed properties in the region. Each section of the park is designed with the unique landscape features as well as sculptures, statues and monuments. Special sections of the property are set aside for the honor and memorialization of soldiers who fought in World War I as well as the War Between the States. Today, the cemetery property also offers a Veterans section, with yearly events and ceremonies. Toledo Memorial Park offers a variety of choices for grieving family members and loved ones including burial vaults, mausoleums, cemetery lots, and a wide range of memorials and monuments. The property is one of the most beautiful in the area, with trees offering plum, gold, orange and yellow colors in the fall. Beautiful water features and fountains offer visual beauty, a sense of pride and a beautiful backdrop for visitors and loved ones. Visitors may access Toledo Memorial Park northwest of downtown Toledo by taking Interstate 475 west out of Toledo and then turning north on Highway 23 toward Sylvania. Turn left on Monroe Street.
